Unhappy Warranty warning for possible buyers

If you are considering any Gulf Stream that is new and unused, but has sat on the dealers lot for a few years be careful. My wife and I purchased a new, unused 2007 Sun Voyager in 2009. The dealer confirmed to us it was under full warranty because it was new. It turns out the 2007 unit was built by Gulf Stream in 2006 and they will not provide a warranty on any unit that left the factory more than 3 years ago. This may be somewhat reasonable, however we were NOT TOLD before signing on the dotted line. Our dealer tried to fight but did not win, but does "claim" he will fix anything that goes wrong in the first year, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
It is a good unit we like. Are basically happy with craftsmanship. But I regret we do not get the Coach-Net roadside service a new home comes with as well as - of course - having no warranty.
I must say that Workhorse and Dometic did stand behind their products so we are very luck in that respect.

We are not trying to speak poorly of Gulf Stream, but paying for a new home you believe is under full warranty and then learning it is not is a real problem. Some of you will say to perhaps sue the dealer, but they did fix a number of problems and we don't want to burn that bridge.

Anyway, be careful and good luck.

Welcome to irv2 johnandcaren.
Thanks for the information and good luck with your new MH.
There will be some things that may go wrong will all the MFG's connected within a MH.
Fill out all warranty's for appliances if you do not have them all go to there WEB sites and register the appliances.
Hold your dealer to his word and you may have a dream coach with out many problems.
Happy and safe RVing.
