Hello! I have no previous experience with RVs and I recently acquired a 1989 Sun Sport. I am slowly working my way through it, trying things out, fixing things, and learning how it works. I've figured out most of what does what and where, though there are a few switches on the dashboard that I have no idea what they do. The ladder switch was pretty easy and the map lights as well. They all work. But the rest of the switches I am not sure about. When I turn them on and off they don't seem to do anything, (or I just don't notice them doing anything). Can anyone tell me what they are supposed to do? Thanks!

Just guessing:

Left to right top row----1 and 2 are fans of some sort dash/ceiling. 3 you say ladder?(why would a ladder have a switch?) 4 I would say a heater coil may be defrost for rear views?

Bottom row seems to be about lights---1 and 2 are a mystery to me but 3 looks like an over head light and 4 would be a reading light perhaps on the dash.

Check your fuse panel they may not be working because of fuses.

A Gulf Stream type will come along until then here is my 2cents and some things to think about---good luck.

I will add----1 and 2 on the bottom row look like lights; 1 just looks like running lights, check out front on the rig----2 could be fog lights.

The ladder switch extends and retracts the step at the door.

I'll check the fuses again tonight and make sure they are all good. Otherwise, it may be time to open the dash....

Ya know, you may have the switch but NOT the option for it.
Often dash configurations are made for the maxed out possible options but then some of those options were not ordered when the rig was new.
Hence, the switch will be there, maybe even the wiring in the wiring harness, but it won't have anything attached.

If the first one on the lower is spring loaded rocker it's for flashing the clearance lights. Next switch is for fog lights. Next switch (on mine it turn on the power to those switches thats overhead in the middle of the windsheild that turn on the lights.)
