'03 Allure rear camera display blank in reverse?

Test drove a 2003 Allure 36 that has the original rear camera and Pioneer head unit/monitor (AVH-P6400CD). The display properly shows the rear camera view when when the tranny is in neutral or drive, but it goes blank when selecting reverse. Is that normal? Seems like you'd want the rear view just as much (if not more) when backing up!

Thanks Don. Any ideas on getting that to work properly?

I have basically the same unit. When I installed the Silverleaf glass dash, the entire dash would go to back up camera. It has quit so I'm going to check it out this week. I know there is a switching network, I just have to find it. I'll let you know.

Just to close this out in case anyone else has this problem, the backup camera view wouldn't work without changing a setting in the Pioneer's setup menu. For my coach, the Backup Polarity setting needed to be changed to "battery."
