03 Magna 42 Air Conditioning

New to Rv's, forum, thread, etc.
Looking strong at 03 Magna but it has only 2 a/c units. Anybody with experience with this? We are in hot, humid south Texas.

Big difference between the Affinity and Magna back in those years. As long as both ACs are working, you will be OK most of the time--the Magna is well insulated like the Affinity. The only time we needed all 3 roof ACs were in Las Vegas with 120 degree outside temps. Another negative on that and earlier year Magnas is the tiny (for a 12-liter engine) fuel tank of only 110 gallons. The Affinity had 164 gallons.

I travel the southwest in the summer in my '03 Magna with two roof AC. I have never had a problem keeping the coach cool. Both units run continuously but the temps is comfortable in the mid 70s on a hot humid day.

When traveling the Magna and Affinity are very comfortable with both dash and rear chassis air. I never have to run generator and roof AC. My dash air is 19K BTU and the rear is 13.5K BTU. Very nice.

The 3 airs is very nice to have when your coach is hot inside. It might not be necessary to have three, but in S Texas there will be a lot of times you wish you had three.

If the coach has set for a while with the air off and it gets hot inside 3 units make for a much quicker cool down.

We have three.

I have an 06' Magna with 3 AC's. Not having experience with two I can't say how difficult it would be to add, but they obviously did it later. I run all 3, but i can keep the thermostats set higher so that they all don't have to run so hard. That's really the only advantage I can see.
