1999 Intrigue wiper arm question

This seems like it should be really simple but I am stumped. We just purchased a "new to us" 1999 Intrigue which we really like. The question is this the wiper arm on the copilot side was loose and not working correct. I took the arm off and found the shaft nut was loose where the shaft comes through the body. When I installed the wiper arm back on I put it so it was in the position in the center of the windshields like the driver side is. Meaning when the wipers are off both wiper arms are close to each other in the center of the windshield. The issue is when I turn the wipers on the copilot side wants to go the wrong or opposite way it should. The only way to get this to work right is to have the copilot wiper arm installed so it is "parked" to the outside of the windshield. Then both wipers go towards the center and back out when they are used. I have looked at pictures of other Intrigue's and they all have the wiper arms "parked" in the center and work opposite of each other. I looked at the wiper motor on the copilot side and it has a sticker on it that says "passenger" so , I assume it is original and the correct unit.

Is there anyway to adjust where the wiper motor/arm "parks" when turned off?

I hope my description is clear and understandable and I look forward to your comments and suggestions.

Thanks

When I replaced my windshield washer hoses, I removed the arms from the pivots.

I had to reinstall each of them several times to get the position on the pivot shafts correctly and centered on the windshield divider.

So, yes there is a way. But, I did not have the extreme problem you describe. It sounds like your wiper motor(s) are out of sync.

Perhaps there is an adjustment that can be made at the motor side of things. If you have a single motor and a arm that links the wipers to the motor, that arm postioning might be adjustable?
