I haven't figured out how the refrigerator is suppose to stay on while moving. The only way we have managed is to run the generator. Can someone out there help us out?

What type?

If residential the inverter should run it.

If rv it could be 3 way and run from gas or engine 12 volt if voltage good.

Need to know the type of refer and is it an aftermarket residential. Some coaches don't have the plug wired through the inverter which would allow 110VAC being available.

I run the generator, while driving. I do not use the inverter.

If all you're powering is the refer, why aren't you using the inverter?

Well, there are things things I don't use because I really do not understand everything about them. Dry camping is plugging in to 30 AMP and only putting the back slides out. The generator seems to fill the bill. We will have the Coach 3 years on 8/1, lots to learn. When I was last asked the same question and I explained myself, no one ever countered my answer.

Hi Wally - Running generator regularly is good for the generator!!!

It does consume some extra fuel.

If your fridge is both Electric and Propane, just set the fridge control to Auto, and it will keep the fridge cool for you while running down the road, or while not plugged into shore power.

If it's residential, and it was installed by the previous owner, it will depend upon how it was hooked up. Most CC's that came stock the LP & Electric fridges, do not run off of the stock inverter. The person installing the residential fridge (if it has one) would have needed to either add a dedicated inverter just for the fridge (not a bad thing to do, as it would probably consume less power then the larger inverter for the coach). Or, what man do is just change the circuit breaker board around to add the outlet tagged Refrigerator, to the Inverter side of the feed. If this has not been done, it would not be an expensive mod for any qualified RV Tech to do.

Then, when you are running down the road, you'd keep the inverter on, and it would power the fridge. The engine alternator would keep the batteries charged as you travel.

This way you can use the generator only when you want the roof airs while going down the road, or to recharge the batteries if doing extended boon docking.

We had our RR frig installed 2 yeas ago and the inverter runs 100% of the time, never have to reset the microwave clock plus it cost a lot less at fill up

Thanks, for the advice. Using the Inverter as you have suggested, does this change when you have LifeLine Batteries? We had the Residential Fridge installed last year. Bob Vinson did a great job and he changed the Circuit Board. My DW (also the Driver) could want the Air on in a moment notice. Since I was originally "afraid" (if I touch it it will break) to run the Generator and everyone has said running it is a good thing, I look at it as making up for lost time. Thanks again.....

It should make no difference on what battery you have in your coach. The only thing I do is to turn off the ice maker when going down the road. We had our Samsung installed at Kustom Coach Works in Junction City and they also installed my Magnum inverter at the same time.
Now your MPG will go up
