2005 Affinity Shocks

Had the independent inspection done today on the 2005 Affinity that we are looking at.
The evaluator (Kevin Waite) said that the shocks were not leaking but were fairly rusty and if it was him he would have them replaced ASAP. Does anyone know what shocks were standard, what would be the best replacement (Koni?) and roughly what it costs (I guess there are 6 of them).

I just replaced my front Koni adjustable shocks with Koni EVO "99" series ones. Cost was $233 each plus $25 shipping. Cummins in Portland OR broke one of my drive axle shocks and bent the other. Cost me $100 plus $13 shipping for a new pair on Amazon, but almost $400 in labor to install them.

Pacific Power in Ridgefield WA. They did a good job for us when we had a starter quit on the '02 Dutch Star and had to be towed there. This time they were much less than impressive AFAIK!
The front EVO's I did myself as they are much easier to get to.

We have Koni shocks on ours. The CC brochure for our coach listed the shocks that are in it along with the tires. Our front shocks are original on our coach and have 128,000 miles on them. They work excellently. At 92,000 miles I replaces the back ones with replacement Konis. Even when new they did not work worth a crap. I have had them adjusted to hard and the new rear ones still don't work well. My point. Make sure you get Kevin to specify the right shocks for your coach before you buy anything. He is very honest and very competent. I have always had a feeling that the "keystone cops" outfit that replaced my rear ones 3 years ago did not know what they were doing. My coach had better rear shocking with the original ones.

Or consider Road Kings if you are flush. They are the Rolls Royce of shocks and likely the very best.
