2006-2009 Cats

Looking at some used 2006-2009 CC's. A lot of them have CATs in them. I seen horror stories about CATs of that era. Anyone have first hand knowledge on those engines?

Thanks

Carl

Other than poor mileage, no issues with my C13. I would avoid any CAT that has DPF (2007-2008 engines). Bear in mind that the engine production year and the coach year don't always coincide...i.e. my 2007 has a 2006 CAT engine.

cat engines have always been robust and reliable providing good torque curves. It only started being a struggle when they had to conform to new pollution standards and they couldn't keep there systems working. Trucks spent more time in the shop then on the road so cat pulled out of the market.

As noted previously most engines in that time period were considerably older then the chassis do to the fact that all engine company's ramped up engine production so for several years we could buy trucks that were newer but with older engines that didnt need to comply.
I have a cummins with an 06 engine in an 08 coach

I have a '08 CC 45' Intrigue with a 2006 C-13 525 hp with 82k miles , no DPF. I take it in every year to the local Cat dealer just to have them check it out and serviced , never any issues . I always use Cat products
