2006 Magna-comments?

The 2005 Affinity I was looking at was a "fail" after I got a thorough look at the maintenance records. We also liked a 2006 Magna that we saw. I assume the same cautions apply as with the Affinity. Any Magna related comments, pluses or minuses?

I don't own a Magna-yet, but I've never seen one I didn't want!

I have a 2006 Magna and love it. I really like the way it handles and rides, like an electric powered cloud. I did the wet kit PTO and all of the basic chassis maintenance you would do on any coach. As you know, a thorough review of the maintenance records is important. You can tell if the coach has been taken care of or not. The previous owner replaced both inverters, so I guess the Xantrex inverters could be a problem, but they can easily be swapped out with Magnum's. I have been tinkering with all of the house items, but all of that could be the case with a travel trailer. I think that just comes with the territory of owning/operating a motorhome. It's a great coach and I really enjoy it. I would highly recommend one.

Ours was at the dealers for about 6+ months, which caused some problems. Delivery PDI wasn't very good and I trusted the tech too much. He said he had tried everything and it was OK. As we went through the rig he would turn things on. Only later did he admit that he did turn things on, but never checked to see if they worked correctly!! My fault for not having Kevin Waite inspect it first!
Also, be aware that the 2007 EPA model year ISX 600 and 650's had valves and heads that weren't up to the job and could/would fail. Ours did as have dozens of others.
Now: the basic rig is fantastic, handles very well, lots of power and a good ride, except on CA roads!! Beautiful woodwork and sturdy. I really like the rig, the DW not so much and we haven't had time with her poor health to really enjoy it anyway.
Had we known what lay in the future we'd have passed on buying it.

Mr. D., A 2006 Magna should have a C-13 Cat, the ISX came out in the 2007, although since CC was sloppy with their model years, it could possibly have an ISX.
Wet kit on the PTO is a must, and slide seals may be weak. All rubber and rubber hoses should be closely inspected, and of course everything needs to be turned on and verified that they work. On the C13, I would make sure I had a belt that could bypass the AC compressor. Since it is a single belt, if the AC compressor freezes and breaks the belt, nothing else run by the belt will operate, and you will be stuck!
