2010 CC Magna 45'

Found this at a Texas dealer, Low mileage (33xxx) and looks very nice from the pics and video they have posted.

Since I'm new to the DP and CC world what are some things I should watch out for and questions I should ask about this coach?

It has the Cummins ISX 600hp engine. I'm familiar with the Cummins brand and trust it just no experience with this engine model.

Any info you can share I would appreciate it.

Thanks
Tim

Now at 289,500. I sure would have given it a hard look it it had been available last year!
Same floor plan as ours but missing the mid ship TV that we have so the front TV is larger than ours.
We don't have the outside TV though.
We have the stacked washer dryer setup so less storage space. DW would really like the storage area. If I suggested taking out the units she'd jump at that.
The 650 Cummins like we have is known to have top end problems (breaking valves in #6) the 600 version seems to have fewer problems.
With the 6 8D batteries and the dual 3000 watt inverters it may have the option for running one heat pump off the batteries.
If the tires are OEM, like ours are, they are nearing their life end.

Thanks for the reply.

If stock tires they need replaced. Other than that do you feel it's priced right or has room to move?

I sent an email but being sunday figured I may get a response let Monday depending on how motivated they are to sell.

Sale price is $40,000-$60,000 less than we paid last year (depends on how you figure the trade we got) at this time so I'd say it's a great price!

Deen,

We personally know of 2 2009 Foretravel Phenix and 1 2010 Country Coach Magna which have the 600 hp ISX that have had that valve problem, so it's not just a 650 hp problem.

Thanks for that information.

Is there any common denominator like mileage or something in the engines with the valve issue?

Don't really want to buy a nice coach and have to spend big $$$$$ on an engine rebuild.

Not to my knowledge. One Foretravel was a failure under 20K miles, the other more than 60K. The CC was somewhere in between.

We were looking at that era coach (either Foretravel or CC) for a while.

Ours has dropped the valve twice, first was at 14,000 miles then again at 45,000. It has also had three turbo's and a couple DPF's now.
First problem was to the original owner so it was fully covered by Cummins as were the first two turbos and first DPF.

Something to think about CC went belly up in 2010 and it wasn't a big surprise to the folks who were working there. When they went under they just took all the parts for the coaches that weren't finished and put them in the coach to be sold when they got rid of everything in the bankruptcy sale. So the question arises was coach fully assembled at the CC factory by workers who knew the end was near or was the unfinished coach bought up at action and finished by some other folks? Good Luck

Good point. New to this so don't know the history on the company or this coach other than what is in the listing.

Honestly it's no skin off my nose if I miss this coach. Just starting the search into the DP market so I'm trying to keep my eyes open.

If it was not finished by Country Coach, it will not have an RVIA sticker on it. Without the RVIA sticker, run! Even so, quality of the last coaches may not be the best, so take a close look at fit and finish.

Our '09 has all the quality fit and finish I expected but I don't know the build date either. Maybe I should go look and see if I can find the sticker.
Nope, ours doesn't have it, or at least not beside the entrance door. Where else would it be?
Well, it does have the OR state inspection sticker listed on the build sheet but I don't see it anywhere either. My guess is they were removed somewhere along the line by the original owner.
