92 CC Magna with a "Basinc Mini Vault" safe

Hi. I have a 1992 CC Magna with a Basinc Mini Vault safe made in Huntington Beach, CA that I'm not sure how to open. I have the combination and have tried it many different ways with no luck. I believe its my technique. Can anyone walk me through the process on opening the safe the proper way? All feedback will be appreciated. Thanks. The safe looks like this one.

Go clockwise at least 4 times, stop on the first number. Go counterclockwise past the second number twice, stop at the number on the third time. Then clockwise once and stop on third number the second time, then go to the last number. If that don't work, try the opposite direction. But it is always a 4-3-2-1.

The dial activates the latch release after the last number.

We have same unit and it took some time to find it under the floor.

Cannot remember right now but try turning dial clockwise to release after last number ir try opposite direction.

Manual out in the shop so can get it tomorrow if needed.

The catch release is a but odd but works.
