94 CC Magna Transmission

Hi,

I am looking at a 1994 Country Coach Magna 36ft. that the owner states has a 5 speed transmission. I thought this would have been an Allison 3060 6 speed. I am aware in some applications the manufacturer has the ability to program out 6th gear. Does any one know if the 5 speed set up is correct for this year or is there a problem with the TCM or wiring? It has a Cummins C8.3.

thanks,

Dennis

Have since found out it is an MT647 5 speed.

Mine is a late 93, same exact setup as yours.

Did they ever use the 6 speed 3060 in the 1993s and 1994s? Or if I want the 6 speed in a CC I should eliminate the 1993s and 94s from my search? Thanks

To the best of my knowledge they started with the 6-speeds in 1995. We looked at an identical coach to ours, except a year older, and it had the 4-speed. We have the 6-speed 4060 Allison. They put the heavier-duty transmisson in the Affinitys with the 10-liter Cat engine.

I have a 93 Magna with the 8.3-300 hp engine, and it is mated
to an Allison 3060 5 speed transmission. The rear-end is a 4-10,
and I average about 9 mpg. This average is over a 20,000 mile
span.

If you go to the Allison website, you can enter the serial number of
the transmission in question, and it will tell you the model, and all
the pertinent info on the transmission.
