ABS

07 CC Magna. Why is the amber/yellow ABS light in the dash instrument panel always lit... what does that mean? Someone please tell me it's nothing to worry about.

I would have it checked out. If your ABS light is on, it generally means you have an active diagnostic trouble code or DTC. With an active code your ABS can stop working and if you have an Allison transmission then you can lose torque converter lockup which can overheat your transmission.
Most of the time the repair is related to a speed sensor with too large of an air gap and just needs pushed in or replaced if the resistance in the sensor is out of range.

An ABS light that stays on after the initial bulb check at engine start up , is an indication that the function of the ABS system is not available ( Shut down) due to an error in the system . Possibly a wheel speed sensor.
It is not necessarily an indication of problems with the service brakes , so regular stopping MAY not be effected.
However , if a wheel sensor fails , there has to be a reason , sometimes it's rust or debris damage from travel, but it can be due to a loose wheel bearing, allowing the tone wheel to contact the sensor and damage it.
Good idea to check it out before too long.

I had to solder a wheel speed sensor back together affer a branch in the road tore it free on my Subaru. That was a easy fix that a quick visual inspection revealed.

The light is there for a reason.

Could it be the tax axle is in the up position?

This does happen with my unit, however once tag goes down and ABS computer rechecks all wheel speed sensors it resets and the light goes off.

This happens to me sometimes after I raise tag, turn sharply, and then lower tag. Sometimes it takes a mile or so of driving and/or restarting engine to reset computer. It's wierd, sometimes comes on, sometimes not. I think it is a function of differing rear wheel speeds when turning sharply with tag up. Raising/lowering tag and not turning sharply will not throw the amber light. As long as it is not on permanently I wouldn't worry about it.
