ACs and generator question

I finally received the filters for the generator . Replaced fuel, air and oil filers and changed the oil.

As long as the engine is running, the generator runs with 3 ACs on - improvement.
Turned the engine off and was otherwise occupied for 45 minutes. Returned to find the generator off.

Restarted and 3 ACs came online and in a few minutes, the generator stopped.

Restarted again immediately and began watching the diag screen.
The generator ran with 3 ACs: ~1800 RPM, 30-43% load, and the temp was 205. Watched the temp climb slowly to 239 (roughly 15 minutes). At this point I shutdown the generator.

I also noticed that fuel is nearing 1/4 tank. I will fill up and retest.

What is the normal operating temperature for ~96* OAT?

Wow, thats overheating. 180 to 200 degrees is a safe operating temp.

Your generator is overheating and shutting itself off. I have the exact same coach and just went through this. I don't remember the exact temperature but it shuts down at around 240 degrees. It might be the temperature sensor but more than likely it's a broken fan belt. The radiator is at the bottom front of the enclosure. Air is drawn through the radiator up into and through the enclosure by a belt driven squirrel cage fan. The alternator is also belt driven. Now for the bad news. To replace the belts you have to have access to the back of the generator. The rear and top panels of the enclosure have to come off. On my coach and I would assume yours is the same, the bolts on the back of the enclosure can't be removed with the generator in the coach. Mine had to be removed from the slide.

A generator of that size should be able to run FOUR Rooftop A/Cs.

Question: Does your rig have a energy management system of the load shedder type (Used when you plug into 30 amps) and a switch that says something like Front-Rear-Both (I do not know how they get the middle one in there)

If so those are suspects 2 and 1 respectively.

Finally got time to put into a solution.

The belt was cut almost 2/3s across. It looks like under some circumstances, the cut would align with a pulley and the fan would stop turning.

Replacing the belt fixed the problem.
