Air conditioner cut out

I left my 97 Allure for about an hour with the genset running, and one air on to keep a load on the generator. When I came back the air had stopped working. I didn't get any lights when I pressed on the controller buttons, but after I turned the controller off and back on, the lights came back and I was able to get the air going again.

I don't think that has ever happened to me before. Can anyone explain why this might happen?

What was the thermostat set to? Maybe it reached the set point and shut off?

I thought that might have been the case, but it was much hotter than 76 when we went back in the coach. In addition, I don't understand the lights on the thermostat not responding to the buttons I pushed. I could see the digital readouts, but the normal light that goes on when you push the mode buttons didn't light up until I turned the switch to off and back on. Then when I set it to run it started normally.

Is this a case of a fluorescent ballast issue?

I know that can be a problem. What should I look for?

Form what I understand change out the fluorescent lights to LED. Changed mine 3 years ago. Apparently, the ballast throws off RF? signals. Leave all the lights off and see if that helps.
