Kinda, this is our first coach and we’ve had it for about two years. In old motor coach years that’s new. After our initial shake down trip of about 4000 miles up the east coast and mid west we decided to keep it and start fixing and upgrading it. Let’s just say it’s been an interesting journey. Almost done! We are in Texas. Still looking for a good 8v92 mechanic to do regular service.

Well it’s a beautiful coach and a belated welcome to the vintage Country Coach fold. I’ve been through pretty much every system on ours and completed numerous (endless) upgrades and updates. If you ever have any questions be sure to hit me up. We’re out in California and it’s not easy finding a good engine mechanic out here either. You will probably have better luck finding an older mechanic who is independent or semi-retired who is knowledgeable on these motors. Fortunately these motors don’t seem to need too much maintenance beyond oil and filter changes. Best of luck.

Beautiful bus! I looking at a 94 with a 8v92 engine. I'm getting mixed reviewswith some calling them fuel guzzlers the require high maintenance.
I have the 6V92 and get about 7mpg. Doesn’t matter if I’m going uphill, downhill, towing or not towing. The 8V92 probably gets similar mileage but likely does better climbing long grades. Personally it doesn’t matter to me. I didn’t buy a bus for good fuel mileage and I’m not in a hurry to get anywhere. In my experience the motors are not high maintenance. However, any coach you are seriously considering should have the engine looked over by a qualified shop that knows the Detroit’s well. I did not do that and it turned out I had a blown head gasket. I decided to have a complete in-frame overhaul done and it cost no less than $3500 per hole. It’s the labor that really gets you. Sitting around is the worst thing for any of these machines and I made the mistake of not having the drivetrain looked over by a professional. Everyone will tell you these motors will last a million miles. They probably will as long as they are maintained and driven regularly.
The build quality of Country Coach is truly impressive. Even still, I’ve been through pretty much every single system to address some kind of repair or upgrade. The good thing is I’ve had no problem getting parts with only a few exceptions. It’s as much a hobby as anything and you have to enjoy tinkering but that would apply to any large coach.

I am getting about 8 MPG. Gotta say if fuel economy is a concern don’t get a bus. I’ve found the cheapest Diesel is through major brand gas stations that have an RV Island and not the truck stops.

Ditto that advice. The Gas Buddy app is a great source for finding fuel at the best prices but you have to consider if the station is large enough to accommodate you, especially if you’re towing and can’t back up.

Very nice! Wish I had the series 60. Having a Series 60 opens up the number of diesel shops I could go to. Alas the Prevost was a bit out of my price range.
