Well I found parts to convert coax to HDMI but then I ran into another big issue. How to change channels? So I would need some type of tv channel controller or maybe a converter box. Now here is the rub how to make it work for cable when I am in a campground that has cable? I have a box that lets me select between ant/cable/sat/other, like most had in our coaches when new. So any ideas on this one. fun fun fun! NOT

Thanks for the help.

I was looking at VeCOAX mini mod 2 a few months ago, and I may come back to it in the future. It takes an hdmi changes it to a tv/ cable Channel, combines it with other cable or antenna channels on your existing coax system. It should in theory keep the 5.1 surround sound as well, but I do not know that for sure. If all your devices ( Sat, Blu-ray, Roku etc) run into an hdmi switcher before plunging into the VeCOAX you could use any device on any tv on the RV’s coax system (one device at a time) or watch antenna or cable on any other tv at the same time. It looks pretty cool. They have several models with different options, but this one seems to fill the bill.

Greg,

I am still working on it as I ran into another small issue. Before I can update the coax to HDMI I need to figure out how to change channels when working from the antenna. So until I get that issue resolved I am at a stand still on this project. Anyone have any ideas on this issue?

Thanks for the help.

What I did was to run both my CATV line and antenna line through JFa reverse splitter and then through an amplifier and then to the stock switcher. HDMI is direct between the amplifier and the front TV. I don't worry about HDMI to the back TV as it really isn't big enough to benefit.

Works great!
