Changing batteries and electronic problems

DearvRJbPerry.......I had your same problem when I changed my chassis battery. My coach has a Panasonic single din that has fm, av, monitor for camera..all wrapped into one .....that closes into dash. After I changed the battery...unit would not come out of dash.......almost bought a new unit. Then one day just messing with it ...it popped out. Now working fine.....but afraid to close it.....so it will stay out......everyone said it had nothing to do with changing the battery...but I am not convinced.......now you had the same thing happen......hummmmmm?:

Daryl, I'm going with the uneducated theory that the loss of power to the unit (assuming it gets it power from the coach batteries) caused it to revert to the factory default which was...
1) XM mode
2) tuner mode
3) CD changer mode
4) Optional Video Mode (Note: must be programmed to work)

I based this seat of the pants theory on the fact that when the tech was pushing this button and that button, a screen popped up asking if you want to turn on the camera!! And since I never turned off the camera mode, I'm gonna blame it on the power loss due to the battery change out! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! (unless someone proves me wrong then I'll blame it on "The Twilight Zone")

Thanks, I needed this!

My problem with the Panasonic in-dash display described exactly. I was delighted to find the post that pointed out Page 67 of the owner's manual (location of reset button). Looked at sketch, looked at back of unit....not even close! No reset button and several more female connection ports. So, I applied some time-tested electrical engineering trouble-shooting. I whacked the unit with my palm. Works perfectly (for now).

My theory is that you just have to show these things who is the BOSS!
