Bad fuel shutoff solenoid--I THINK

Does anyone know where the fuel shutoff solenoid is on a 2004 Inspire with ISC 350?

The issue is today the engine suddenly would not shutoff via the ignition switch, but will shutoff if the chassis batteries are disconnected. My review of earlier posts on this and other forums suggests the shutoff solenoid is not working correctly or the wiring to the solenoid is corrupted.

Any thoughts would be appreciated before I head back to the Cummins dealer, who is booked solid for weeks and unable to get to the unit, to bring it home to see if I can resolve the issue.

I hope it is OK to post here as I will post on Cummins forum as well (not sure which is best??)

Thanks.

A response on the Cummins forum suggests the problem is a defective diode in the alternator exciter circuit, and that by 2004 they replaced the mechanical shutoff value with electronic fuel injectors shut off by the ECM. Thoughts?

The problem has been resolved. Turns out the culprit was a parasitic feed to the ignition switch from the radio. Don't know yet the reason for the charge but disconnecting the radio, which was wired to the ignition switch, allowed the engine to shut off properly.

Thanks for the help.

Russ , thanks for wrapping up your post , and describing the fix.
I'll keep that possible power source in mind if I hear of your problem again.
Could you post the radio brand and model ?
