Basement door lock issue

Hey CC Owners:

My PS #3 basement door has failed to fully unlock. The door handle does unlock the right side latch, but the left side latch does not move.

I'm checking on options and advice from others that have encountered this issue.

I can come in from the other side through the DS #3 bay door to possibly remove the lock cover from the rear and manually try to unlock both sides, but I do have a basement TV partially in the way. Not sure if I can get to everything.

I will tackle this task next weekend, but wanted to check in with the experts before I begin.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Tony,

It appears the plunger in the latch has failed. Not uncommon. Go to the link below and you should be able to find what you need. Very good quality and a lifetime warranty. Just rebuilt all mine about a week ago!!

Looks like a much better option than the plastic ones. Barney which kit did you order for the CC?

Mine took the Winnebago latch but yours could possibly be different. Best to pull one out and check it before ordering.

Winnebago Latch Part# WN001

I rebuilt mine but if I had to do it over again I would buy the new units. It was a lot of work to do the rebuilds on 20 latches! The quality of the plungers are excellent.
