Bedroom engine cover

Hi All,

I have a 2001 Affinity B&B 42 w/ Tag, and I am trying to open the engine cover in the bedroom floor. I have the screws out, and it kind of opens, looks like it is hinged and about half of it opens. Appears the end against / under the bed pedestal doesn't want to move or come out or anything.

Anyone know how this is actually supposed to work?

Thanks,

Bob

check if there is/are washer(s) in the hole(s). If there is/are, the cover will be bogged down. after they are all out, it's a two-person job to lift the cover out.
also recommend to cover up the surrounding areas with towels. the engine ceiling/cover bottom is full of dirt/soot...

Our Allure, requires the removal of the bed frame to clear that area. Could your Affinity require this too? We also have to remove the wardroom mirror doors, and floor jamb too.

Whenever I think access will be required from above, I remove these myself to avoid the shop rate fees!

Best of luck, hope it was just some washers as mentioned.

Bedroom engine cover

Smitty

I have the top off the bed pedestal, and can see that the engine cover is slid under the pedestal. The engine cover towards the curb side slides back and forth, but the road side is pretty firmly wedged under the bed pedestal. The bed does not raise or remove. It has the slide mechanism attached to it in several places. So unless I am missing something, I don't believe the bed frame is ever going to move.
I am off to find a bigger hammer...........
