Anyone hear anything about Country Coach not having paid their vendors in 6 months, and the fact they are out of business? This is what I was told by another coach owner, who had just bought a new Country Coach for 50% off MSRP.

The latest I heard (couple of days ago) Country Coach had laid off more workers and were building 2 1/2 motorhomes a week.

I called tech support on Tuesday of this week and they were still there then.

I had some folks who stay at Deerwood frequently in the park last week. They had gone to the CC rally a few weeks ago & traded up. They had been over at the factory after their delivery to have some things gone over ...they did not say it was closed while they were there....

Spoke with a rep over the weekend at the Tacoma RV Show. Was told that Country Coach is still up and running, but certainly hit by the economic whoa's the rest of the industry is experiencing. From what I understand, they are running 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Only building coaches as customers order, nothing being pre-built without having a home.

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- Every year around this time, the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association hosts the biggest trade show of the year, attracting thousands of RV makers, suppliers and dealers to Louisville, Ky., where they spend three days schmoozing and making deals.

It’s the sort of can’t-miss industry event that companies attend to show off new innovations and products and to keep an eye on the competition. But this year, Country Coach decided to miss it.

The privately held RV maker, based in Junction City, decided to skip the show, which started Tuesday, even though it boasts a truly ground-breaking new product — an RV with a retractable deck — that would have been a show-stopper, according to one industry observer.

Country Coach spokesman Matt Howard said company officials decided there was “no point” to attend the show because none of its dealers planned to be there, and the dealers who are there can’t get financing to order new products.

“It’s a good year to save our money and invest it and keep our company healthy,” he said. “We’re doing our best not to operate on habit, or on what the industry has always done. Our dealers say we didn’t need to be there, so it makes sense to save money.”

Howard declined to say how exactly much it costs to exhibit at the Louisville show. But he did say it was expensive and runs into the tens of thousands of dollars.

Expenses include transporting RVs cross country, renting exhibition space and equipment, installing an attractive display space, and covering the expenses of company officials.

Country Coach is hardly the only one skipping the show. Attendance this year is down to an expected 9,000 people, from more than 14,000 last year, the association said.

According to today's Register Guard, both Country Coach and Monaco are taking an extended holiday hiatus. Country Coach from the first part of December to January 5 and Monaco from Dec. 12 to January 12. The article implied that Marathon might also be laying off employees.

I can tell you this the employees are at Country Coach as I write picking up their tools. My cousin works there (or shall I say did?). They have been closed for some time now. They only tell you what they want you to hear.

Junction City (KMTR) - A Country Coach spokesman denies that the permanent closure of the RV maker's Junction City plant is imminent. That's in response to concerns voiced by employees who were asked to come into work and pick up their belongings. Many employees are worried that Country Coach may be closing for good. But in an e-mail to NewsSource 16 Friday afternoon, company spokesman Matt Howard wrote, “Country Coach employees were contacted for their benefit, not because of an imminent closure”. Country Coach management would not agree to an on-camera interview with NewsSource 16. Nor did company officials respond to phone calls from KMTR-TV. NewsSource 16 did receive an email statement, quoting Country Coach CEO Jay Howard. The statement reads: We are working diligently to give Country Coach the ability to stay in business, and reopen our plants. Filing for bankruptcy is an option, but it is not currently foreseen. I am cautiously optimistic about Country Coach's future.” Country Coach employees began calling and contacting NewsSource 16 Thursday afternoon. According to the workers, company employees were asked to show up at Country Coach Friday morning between 8:00 am and noon to pick up their personal belongings.

Wells Fargo Bank has filed a 7,9 million dollar suit against CCL. This happened the day the workers were told to come get their belongings. Bob Lee has a suit against them for not paying the rent. Looks like the end is very near.
