Cruise Control info for 1992 CC Concept?
We need an electrical diagram to troubleshoot our electronic cruise control system. We have three switches on the driver left side panel, ON/OFF, Set, Resume. The resume switch is a momentary switch and the 'spring' feature in the switch stopped functioning properly, although it still operated the cruise control correctly. After much trial and error we obtained a replacement switch from Country Coach in Junction City. After the switch was installed the cruise control did not work. The new switch was determined to be the wrong one and the original was reinstalled. Now we don't have power to the switches. We've been to 3 different techs and all reached dead ends with their troubleshooting because we don't have the relevant electrical diagrams. The wiring information in our manuals stops at wire #524. Specifically, we need to know what the following wires are for: 544D, 545D,953D,558D.
We don't know for sure what cruise control system it is (nothing about cruise control in our manuals). We have an electronic Detroit Diesel V926 engine in a Gillig chassis. The ECM controls the cruise. We previously talked with Gillig but their records for our specific coach indicate that they did not install the cruise control at Country Coach's request.
Gregg Bootes at Country Coach (Winnebago) said it is Bendix, but the documentation he sent us does not match what's in the coach. It appears that older Concepts have this, but ours does not and Bendix parts are unavailable anyway. Gregg said they installed a new King Cruise Control system for another customer in our situation and suggested we do this. So here we are at Colton Truck Terminal Garage in So California. They ordered the King and the first thing they discovered is that its for mechanical engines. It will NOT work for us.
Any help is greatly appreciated - especially the appropriate electrical diagrams and wiring data. Thank you!
