Doors
Well you live and learn sometimes the hard way. Had the bad experience
of leveling the Coach equipped with 8 air bags with the Coach door open
seemed okay to me. Pressed the auto level, okay cool worked great so I
go outside (I'm at our RV club parking site) and start doing some
maintenance items. But before leaving the Coach I placed my keys for
our Jeep with my cellphone on the dash tray, good place to leave'm or so
I thought. Closed the door and head back to my tool box and started my
chores. Now I'm thirsty and decide to get a cold drink from the fridge, Lord
have Mercy the door will not open. Try and try and try nope that is not
going to budge. So I have access to step ladders at the club and now I am
trying each and every window hoping to find one unlocked. Finally the
"very last" window was not locked, it was hard to see in because the
windows are reflective so I could not see the lock. Well as I said the last
window was my Salvation, so I crawled in and tried the door and it still
would not budge. So I figured that I should put the Coach in travel mode,
"bingo" that worked fine and now re-level with the door closed and that
worked perfectly also. Don't know if anyone else had this problem.

Interesting. My 42' Allure has six air bags, two at each axle. I've never had the door bind either when level or not. However, can't remember leveling the coach with the entry door open but not sure that would make a difference.
Were you on a particularly unlevel site?

Yes I was in my parking space at our RV club parking lot almost perfectly flat.
If your 42' has a tag it might also have 8 air bags this is as per my chassis
schematic of our Coach. It shows 2 before and 2 aft the drive axle plus 2 at
the front IFS and *2 bags aft the tag*.

Disclaimers: not a Country Coach owner nor a DP owner, so this may not even apply.
BUT, have had the entry door bind to to point of not opening after leveling. It seems to happen when we are on sites that are not level in multiple directions. Our observation is that the coach body seems to "twist" making the door inoperable. Now we check the door as our final leveling step.

That is what I am doing from now on, I guess it needs to be pretty much
perfectly level to "kneel" the Coach without having the binding affect.
Thanks for the info.

Make sure Nader Pin is not loose. If it is it can move up and down and throw out adjustment. I found out my wife had been just tightening it by hand. I put some lock tight on it and then cranked it down. (Nader Pin is the big bolt that the door mechanism clamps around)
Good Luck

Thanks, but that was not the problem. I also extremely lubricated the door
mechanism from the edge of the door and it appears it has help pretty good.
