Driver Area Carpetting

I wanted to get a carpet for the cockpit area - did some search but did not come up with anything attractive with a reasonable price. I did, however, get some pointers which led me to what I ended up doing.
I went to Menards and found a piece of area rug 5x8. The width of 5 feet was almost perfect. The length is just shy of 7 feet. So, a 5x7 would workout almost perfectly. At our local Menards, there were so many choices from $49 each to almost $300. The $49 was my next choice, but I went with a mid-price piece ($129), a bit more, but a real thick and soft carpet.

Ours came with a black mat from the Crown Club at Lazy Days in FL. It'll make a great pattern when I get around to replacing it!

I contacted LD also. It was $300 + shipping and didn't quite know what it will look like. I think the one I have is a nicer carpet an covers more area. I had one made for my Essex just for the driver side. That was costly too for what it was. I'll see how the edges hold. I may have to somehow fix the edges (it is just the one side).

It's a ribbed black industrial type carpet. Not totally unattractive but not like yours.
Now looking for a dash cover. I've found two places that have patterns but not for the'09 dash. Josie has one for an '07 but CC says it's different. The other has an '08 pattern but theirs is rubber backed and they can't say whether it'll discolor the white dash fabric.

Mr_D: I have not seen an actual dash cover. If you do find one, please post some pictures - would be curious to see what it looks like.

As I posted earlier, I know of two companies that make them. One is ShadePro and the other is Dashcovers by Josie.
We had one from Josie in the Dutch Star. It was in there for some 8 or more years and even with our dogs and then cats up on it it was still in good shape when we traded the rig in.
The Shade Pro unit is black rubber backed and the can't guarantee that it won't permanently discolor the white dash. The have a pattern for the '08 Magna.
The one from Josie has no rubber backing and would be my preference but they only have a pattern for the '07 Magna and it's different according to CC.

I had one made at Blondies for my 08 magna. She made a pattern from my dash and said she kept the patterns for future orders. It seems to fit fine and has no backing.

If discoloration happens, it is recommended that you remove the cover for several weeks. This will allow for coloring to return to the dash.
