Electric Brake Controller

I am trying to install an electric brake controller on my 1996 Magna but cannot find a wire for the electric brakes. The rest of the wiring for the lights is installed and works fine. Have looked at the schematics to no avail. Does anyone know if this wire is installed and if so where can it be found? Are there any markings on this wire if it is installed?

Detroit Diesel
Thanks in advance
Fred

Hello Fred, I am not going to be much help helping you find your blue brake wire here but when I installed mine I looked and called Spartan and Newmar and foud out I did not have one so I went this route Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional Tekonsha Brake Controller 90250 and it has worked wonderful. Easy install and you can re-program it in seconds for another auto and go.

Electric Brake Controller

Palehorse89, thanks so much for the suggestion. I will look into it. The shop where I get the chassis serviced says there is no blue wire available and they are not sure how one would be run.

My '94 CC Manual indicates on Page 6-4 that the blue and black connectors "have not been made in the female receptacle". Blue is Trailer Brakes and Black is Charging.

Thanks for the reply. I found a similar note, regarding the blue and black leads, in my owners manual. On my coach the black lead is connected at the plug and what I am trying to find is whether the blue lead was run from the dash area to the rear of the coach and just left as a spare lead.

Your CC coach may be different but Monaco didn't start pre-wiring the RV for an electric brake control until the mid 2000's.

I had to run my Blue wire from the dash area where the Tekonsha P2 sits all the way to the rear engine area.

It would be my guess that you don't have one.
