Emergency Window

We have a Country Coach Tribute 260 and our right (passenger side) emergency window was damaged (destroyed) in an accident some months ago. The repair shop ordered another from Country Coach and some months later received a new window, only it was a regular window (not the emergency exit window). After talking to CC they sent another and you would think we would receive the correct emergency window, but they had just sent another regular window. Not only that but the bill they sent is for $9000.00. Kind of crazy. Anybody have any idea what we might do to solve this problem? Oh. are we having fun yet?

I'm guessing CC didn't have the window custom sized for the CC Tribute 260. If you get measurements and other characteristics of the emergency window, a replacement could be found at an RV window manufacturer, for much less than $9,000. Do you know the source of CC windows?

Also, you could check with some of these salvage yards, they may have one:

Good luck!

How does a Country Coach "regular window" differ from an "emergency exit window"?
Wondering

On my Safari they are identical...(except the 2 "exit windows" slide to the right and have red, rather than black, latches/locks).

On my Safari, the emergency windows slide like normal windows, but also have red handles on the bottom and hinges on top. Pull both red handles and the whole window hinges outward by its top hinge, so you can crawl out without spilling your beer. I have two such windows; one above the road side couch in the salon, and one above the low dresser curb side in the bedroom. Here's a new technique I learned -- try opening these windows in a non-emergency situation. What you find might surprise you. Both of my E-windows have window awnings above them.

The Windows on my CC Concept were manufactured by Herh http://www.hehrintl.com. Not sure if this helps but may be the same supplier for your coach.
