Eyeball light fixtures in Country Coach motorhomes

Has anyone replaced the 20W Halogen BiPin lights in the gold eyeball fixtures with LED lights on our coaches? On my coach, they're the ones over the bed and along the outside edge of the coach under the bottom of the counters along the windows on both passenger and driver sides. What bulb did you go with?

M4 has a replacement for the eyeball itself, but there is insufficient clearance to use them. They also offer a reading light, but someone with an Allure stated that, although they work, the pins are larger and very difficult to install (plus polarity sensitive). They also offer a tower, but M4 sales didn't think it would work well due to the design.

Just looking to see what others have done and any issues (pros or cons) they found with their choice.

I bought a bunch off Amazon for less than 1.50 per unit. They do make ones with different diameter pins too although I got them to work. Some had pins that were too long so I just cut them off. I did ruin one though as the solder joint broke. Very happy with the results. I also bought some of the $10 ones from M-4 to use in the bedroom, they also work well and actually fit the lens better.
BTW: I had to break out the heavy metal heat sink/reflector and glue the bare socket back in. I used the flat panel lights so all the LED's shine down.
I was also very happy to find that the sockets were all polarity correct, guess that goes with the quality construction that a CC has.
Will you be at the Thanksgiving rally in Salem?

I replaced all of mine with those from M4. They are a tight fit due to pin size but I used a little dielectric grease on the pins and that made installation much easier.

We liked the Warm White bulb best.

Were you the one that made the comment on M4 about them being so difficult to put in that you were afraid of breaking them? You are talking about the reading light bulb, correct? I like the idea of them, but was hesitant because of the comment about the larger pins and difficulty installing.

We like the warm white better, as well.

My first batch were tight but I could get them installed. I ordered a later batch and had more difficulty....even pushed one or two of the pins into the bulb trying to install them. M4 replaced those bulbs and suggested I use dielectric grease. I did and had no problems installing the rest of them.

good to know, Ranger....thinking I'm going to go with them

Deen -- I was going to order them and Steve at M4 suggested that I not use them ... at least the ones I ordered....he said they might stick out at the end and due to the way the leds were placed that the lighting would be ineffective ...

edit: actually, the ones you show have the wrong base -- bi pin, not wedge
