Fan on high when air conditioner is on

Whenever I put my air conditioner on my cooling fan stays on high. Is there a sensor I can disconnect so this doesn't happen.
2005 CC Inspire #51264.
Thanks in advance.

You are talking about your radiator fan going to high speed when the A/C compressor is operating.
If so the extra air flow through the A/C condenser ; also in the air flow from the rad fan ; is required for the A/C to operate properly.
The A/C system would over pressurize and shut down without the, cooling provided by the air flow.

I thought the engine cooling fan was suppose to stay on high only if I was running my air conditioner on high?

Most systems will run the fan to high any time that A/C is selected on the dash control , some will link the fan speed to the cycle of the compressor; that cycle is controlled by internal pressures of the system.

Is the rad fan cycle described in your owners manual.

Nope. Runs anytime your AC is on. It will also run when you select "vent"

Rad fan running in vent would be a little unusual , but in defrost the A/C runs to de-humidify the air going onto the windshield to prevent frosting up on the inside. So my fan runs then. ( electric on a condenser remote from the rad)
