Fantastic Fan broken motor cap model 6500

The previous owner of our 2001 Affinity must have tried to pry open the fan and broke the cap that covers the small motor in the corner. You can see the covered motor when looking inside up into the fan in the corner. Does anyone know where we might purchase a new cover since this really looks bad? The fan works fine so do not want to purchase a new one...also don't want to tear apart another fan just for this part.
Thanks for any help/

Try calling FanTastic direct. I have found them very helpful on questions like this.

X2 on calling Fantastic. I just called them today as my 12 year old Fantastic broke a gearbox to lift the roof cap. I talked to the tech on the phone who was very knowledgable and is in the USA. They are sending me the part free and just charging me shipping. Fantastic is a great outfit.

Fantastic has recently been purchased by Atwood, they used to provide free parts and shipping no matter how old your fan was and great service. At the 2013 Syracuse Rally I talked with an Atwood tech who said he would do the labor for free, but unfortunately had to charge for the parts for my out-of-warranty fan.

dennis45 - Don't get me started on made in China. I am old enough to remember when almost everything was made in the USA. It was so much better than what we have now. When you have a problem it is so easy to call someone like Fantastic and talk to someone who's first language is English and they actually know something about their product. Compare this to being sent to a call center in India and talking to someone who you can barely understand and they only read a script.

Luv2Go - Maybe Fantastic does not pay for shipping now but that is still fantastic service compared to most companies. My fan is 12 years old!

I agree, but we (North Americans) flock to Wallyworld by the thousands to buy as much made in China stuff as we can because it's Cheap. But there is an aftermarket price to pay.

Dennis,

It's a free country and people can buy where they want. I do like to buy things from places that you can go back to for parts and service. If our motorhome was made from parts sourced outside the USA it would be a nightmare to fix. Or at the very least more expensive.

I do try to buy things made here. Most of the time it is worth the price.

The roof caps are still free. They have a lifetime guarantee on them. I just replaced both of mine. Cost me $20 for shipping, that was it. Country Coach also had what Fantastic Fans called double domes. So if you do replace them be sure to tell them it the double dome style.

olyshed,

I just this week ordered mine from Fantastic Fans. I took pictures of the damaged cap and emailed the pictures to them. They returned an email and are sending them out to me "FREE OF CHARGE." suggest you get in touch with them, they are very understanding and helpful.
