Finicky slides

The one Power Gear slide on my Allure works fine but the three HWH system slides are driving me nuts. I have learned that I cannot either extend or retract any of the 3 HWH (hydraulic) slides without running the Cummins. That is OK with me. However, even with the engine running, they do not always respond.

Last evening, I started the motor and ran all the slides in for a trip tomorrow for chassis maintenance. Tonight, I started the motor to extend one of the bedroom slides to get something out of the closet. Yellow indicator on, key for slide room on, hit switch and nothing. Waited a few minutes, tried again and nothing. I re-leveled the coach (dealer told me slides generally will not work if coach is not level) and still nothing. Shut off engine and left it alone to go read manuals to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Fifteen minutes later, restarted motor, slides worked fine. Go figure .

So, anyone else have similar issues? I talked to Greg at CC today about installing a ladder on this coach so maybe I will be calling him again tomorrow.

I had a similar problem with one of the slides on my Inspire. I called CC and this is what they suggested to do:

1- Lube the rails with a dry graphite lube
2- Replace the breakers. They weaken after being tripped a few times. Also, the manual for my coach called for 20 amp breakers and it actually had 10 amp breakers
3- Clean and wax the bottom side of the slide as well as the side walls. Exterior of course
4- If the slides go down level to the floor clean the opposing ramps with rubbing alcohol. This is done on the inside under the flap of carpet

I did those 4 things and my troublesome slide works perfect.

By the way, my manual says to level and extend all slides with the engine running. Those systems run off the chassis battery.

I hope this help,
