Flasher Relay

I have a '98 CC Allure and I'm trying to find the turn signal/hazard flasher. My turn signals are flashing too fast and I would like to replace the flasher relay. My manual says its on a black wire #63 in the lower dash area (same location it says the fuses are in) but I don't see anything like a flasher relay. The only thing in the fuse box is fuses and breakers. I crawled under the dash area and found the beeper but I can't hear a relay clicking so its probably digital or located somewhere else.
I'm stumped.

Look for a black box about 3/4 to 1" think and 2 1/2 to 3" wide and stick you finger on it while the flasher is running. I just had to replace the one in my wife's van and it was integrated into a unit with the low high beam and daytime running lights. Went from being a $15.00 +/- part to a $125.00 part. I think with a bit of ingenuity and a screw driver or two one may be able to seperate and replace individual components. Of course YMMV.

I have a 99 Allure so am not sure it is the same as yours. In front of the passenger seat is a removeable panel. Mine has six screws. Turn on the signal and you should be able to feel the unit clicking. Just pull up on it to remove. Cannot remember if it has 3 or 4 prongs.

Flasher Relay

You were right Bill, it's behind the big cover in front of the passenger seat.
Thanks,
gary
