Front air bags dump for no reason

I have a 1997 Country Coach Affinity and when I level the coach the coach stays level for a couple of hour and then the front air bags will just dump out all the air for no reason and leave the coach low in the front and out of level. What do all of you think this could be.

My guess would be an air leak? If you think it is a control or electrical problem disconnect one of the wire connections to the front dump valves after you are leveled out and see if it still happens. If it still drops down it is an air leak if not it is electrical.

Does it dump like when it dumps through the leveling system? It seems ours does that now and then. It seems like sometimes it will level and be a little high in the rear then after a bit it will dump some air and then be fine. But when it dumps on its own it isn't during the initial leveling sequence. Sounds interesting.

I would level as you normally do and then once level turn off the HWH system. If it stays level then it most likely is in the controller. That will require further check out.

If it doesn't stay level then I would check the valves. It would be strange to have the two front valves both go bad at the same time so I'm guessing it's in the controller.

Good luck and let us know what you find....

Do you have solenoids for purging your air tanks? My 2000 Magna does and the air exhaust below the bumper on the front passenger side. I just discovered today that one of those solenoid valves is leaking and the front of my coach would not stay up after leveling while parked. I turned the petcock for that valve off and solve my problem temporarily. I'm going to have that solenoid replaced.

Hello Roy1
I think it's the control board because all at once it will dump all the air out when the coach was perfectly level or it could be a electrical problem, but more likely it's the control board.

if its hwh, and the system is in sleep mode, it wakes up and checks the level after 1/2 hour. if it dumps the front air bags at that point, it a problem in the control box.
before you send it in, download a service manual for your system and either you or someone do the diagnostics on it. if you need a control box, and have the time, its way cheaper to have it repaired at hwh, than replacing it.
email hwh at service@hwh,com requesting a rga number to return your box.
include all the info you would at your car dealership. name, address, phone number, brand and model of your coach, and vin number. this is for the one year warranty you receive on the repaired box. the only price they will quote is for a reman box. they have no idea what is wrong with yours, so thats the only price they can give with any certainty. its usually much less.
