Fuel consumption with CAT C12 2003
Trying to obtain real information on the 2003 Country Coach Magna Resort with a Cat C12 fuel consumption. We are in the process of making an offer on the coach with 74,000 miles, looks immaculate but concerned about what it really uses in fuel. Concerned about only 110 gals fuel if it's thirsty. Sure would like to know what you are experiencing. Thanks, in advance, for your input.
ps: we are very conservative on our speed and do understand that if in mountains it would use more.

Fuel consumption with CAT C12 2003
Maybe just a data point, as I have an 01 Affinity with the 505 HP CAT C12.
I just returned from a 2300 mile trip, pulling my Enclave toad, and the silver leaf reported mileage at 7.2 MPG. I drove on a combination of interstate highways and state roads, and kept the cruise set at 64 MPH.
Luck,
Bob

My Magna has 525 HP C13. I get approx. 6.5 mpg whether towing toad or not. Cruise at 60 MPH. (I'm in no hurry any more)

All good numbers. 7mpg I say is average, 8 is exceptional, 6 is quite common.

We have a C12 with 505 hp. On the last trip we did 3,000 miles and got about 7.5 mpg. That figure is the one the computer comes up with. I have checked it in the past and it is very accurate. Our tank is 167. Are you sure about the one your thinking about being 110?

don't understand why but the magna's all had 110, while the affinitys got the 165. perhaps because the affinity's were all elec. just guessing.

Didn't have anything to do with the coach being electric. Ours is not all-electric, and we have a 158 gallon fuel tank. I suppose it was part of the distinction between the Affinity and Magna. CC ended up putting 150 gallon fuel tanks in both the Affinity and Magna about 2005. Thenewer coaches actually should have had about a 200 gallon fuel tank with the larger (and thirstier) engines. We run 8-9 MPG including heavy generator use, and can pretty much count on 1000 miles and still have a decent fuel reserve.

I stand corrected. I believe it is an affinity- magna difference. wish I had the larger tank- 200 gal.
