Gen slide not opening when power is applied

When moving the switch to "out", it energizes but no outward movement. Hitting the "in" makes loud metallic sounds but of course it has nowhere to go since it's still in the travel location. It worked a month ago before we moved into this resort a month ago. The gen starts and runs but isn't putting out power so I probably need to hit a reset button.

I am assuming that yours moves in and out with a hydraulic ram? Or is it an electric gear motor?

When I hit the extend button, the hydraulic ram pushes out the sliding tray but there is a locking mechanism on the passenger side that has to release. It is a safety feature that keeps the gen slide from sliding out without power. That safety latch is just a catch that flips up when the hydraulics pushes hard enough. If it is rusty or corroded or resists to much then the hydraulic pressure won't overcome it, it won't release and the slide wont budge.

I would look there first.

If you are not getting hydraulic pressure or can't hear the pump working as it builds up pressure, then you have an electric issue with no power going to the hydraulic pump.

If it is anything like mine, takes two people. 1 to flip the switch and the other to bump the drawer inward which helps release the switch. Then easy slide out.

Sounds like your latch is working to well. Look at it carefully, it may have a 90 degree hook and you could grind it back down to a 75 degree angle so it releases easier. Also put a little grease or silicone spray on it to slip off easier.

The hydraulic cylinder can only push forward with so much pressure, which should be enough to kick the release up. If is does not release it means the latch is to tight, to rusted or with to sharp of a angle.
