We are about to retire and will full time for at least a year. We have two coaches under serious consideration and would really appreciate some opinions.
They are a 2004 Magna 42 ft, 25000 mi and a 2006 Intrigue 40 ft., 50000mi. Both at around 170 K and both in very good condition.
Which is the best coach for long term comfort and dependability?
We could use some advice to push us one way or the other.

both are great coaches and will serve you well. the magna will have more bells and whistles, and more upgrades. I would prefer the magna and 42 ft as you get another bay. I like tags because of the handling and extra load capacity. you didn't say if the 40ft was a tag or what engines they have. you just can't go wrong with a cc ajmo
on what I prefer.

They are both tag axels and powered by the cat c13. I've heard all the bells and whistles can be a problem on the Magna? No worries about extra mileage on the Intrigue?

the chassis and running gear is good way past 500k. cc is IMO one of the best, strongest chassis out there. c-13's had some cooling issues but i think those have been corrected user warranty. make sure they have the steel rad. as the alum. ones were junk and developed leaks. to me, lower mileage is always better, but 50k wouldn't bother me if you prefer the fp, or interior colors better.

Take a look at the available storage in both units. At one time, the Allure and Intrigue had the most storage. For me, I would look at the Intrigue as I don't need all be bells and whistles of the Magna.

Good point on the radiator. I'll check that out. I'm going to buy an extended service plan, I'll have to make sure the radiator is covered.
Does the price point seem right to you?

Check to make sure the wet/dry PTO issue has been taken care of.

As you can see in my sig., I like the Magna.

Does the Magna have the drop down floor for the driver's side slide? Several sources have indicated problems with that slide system.

I'm not sure what you mean by drop down floor. Both slides in the front are flush to the center floor. No step up.
Do you have problems with the electric shades. Wondering I'd ill spen a lot of time tinkering with those little motors?

Never had a problem with my drop down floor. It is flush with the main floor. Works great!

As with most RV manufacturers, Country Coach upgrades their models each year. Because of this, the 2006 Intrigue may have many of the 2004 Magna features.

Check the coach trip computer for lifetime fuel mileage so you are not surprised.

Check the pricing carefully using camparable online RV pricing as well as NADA RV bluebook. Do not add all the options listed in the bluebook as most are standard. The guide says not to include mileage on diesel coaches, but a dealer will certainly include this if you are trading in.

Check both coach exterior walls for delamination and check tire dates. Both of these are expensive items.
