I also had a switch that was unmarked, turned out to control a thermostat for a fan in the A/V cabinet.

I do have a fan in the av cabinet, but it seems to run even when the switch is off... And flipping the switch on doesn't immediately turn on or off the fan.

You could buy a tone generator and trace the wire to wherever it ends.

I woudl say it is NOT the water heater as that is a Chassis panel not a HOuse panel (Chassis and cockpit controls) Mirror heater perhaps they are often not labled.

I have an Aqua Hot furnace and water heater system... working fine and has nothing to do with this switch

UPDATE: Finally got around to opening the A/V cabinet, as well as the panel that the mystery switch is on.

With both items open at the same time, I was able to trace the switch to a Wireless Cellphone Amplifier - which was hidden in the A/V cabinet.

Obviously the previous owner had this added... would have taken 2 seconds to label the switch when installed.

Anywho... it's labelled now and I'm looking forward to seeing if the booster actually gives me better signal once I get to an area that has low signal.
