Help with Hurricane Heater Plumbing Diagram
I've taken a picture of part one of my Hurricane Heater plumbing drawings and wonder if anyone knows what part 8H is near the center of the drawing? The square box labeled 9 on the upper left is connected to the engine and the square box labeled 2 on the right is the return pump to the Hurricane furnace. If this is a valve then I can shut off the block heater function of the Hurricane when I don't need it.
Any ideas?

Dig a little deeper in your manuals. Somewhere there is a listing of things, such as "8H", used in the system. The info is there, you just have to find it.
In our coach ('02 Intrigue), the Hurricane doesn't heat the block as it is a huge heat sink and would dissipate all the heat in the system. There is a one way check valve that allows the engine heated coolant into the Hurricane so that you can have over the road heat without actually running the unit.

Next thing to do is join the Yahoo Groups CC discussion group and ask there.

Try contacting this link:
Hurricane Heating System Models
Ask or check to see if they have a discription manual. Hurrican is still in business and located in Vancouver, WA. Give them a call.

This is fine, however, the schematic in question is Country Coach specific and has nothing to do with the Hurricane operation.

Hurrican and Aqua Hot, both held instruction classes for the manfacturers, with recommended parts, layouts, and specific information so the design & installation was approved by the manfacturer. Now with that said, it's known Alpine Coach did not in all cases follow those recommendations or suggestions. I cannot speak for CC, but since they and WRV are gone, it's likely it is poor vehicle quality along side of an economy which is in the tank, and most likely to stay there with high fuel costs, and the ripple effect therein. See if Hurrican knows what that is, since they assisted CC with the design and final installation.
