House Battery Disconnect

I am preparing to install a real battery shut off switch (400 amp rated Marinco) for my house batteries. The owner's manual for my coach refers to 'the domestic battery disconnect switch, located in the service bay'. This is in addition to the reference to the battery disconnect switch just inside the entry door.

I cannot find any disconnect switch in my battery area. There is a chassis battery switch.

The original Xantrex inverter died before we bought the coach and the PO replaced it with a Magnum. I am wondering if the house battery switch referenced in the manual may have been removed when that was done???

Any changes made by former owners can be problematic, (especially electrical changes)
Methinks your best bet is to research the problem and then add whatever you need/want.... (and remove anything you don't).

Perhaps the trick is in understanding what the writer meant by "Service Bay".

On the electrical schematics CC included in my manual are notes as to where the specific component is located.

Check the schematic for the charging system. May be a clue there?

Reading thru the entire section, they were referring to the battery/inverter service bay. In another section where they identify every item in that compartment, they identify a 200 amp resettable circuit breaker for the house batteries. Just above that is the chassis battery disconnect switch.

So, other than the salesman's switch inside the coach, there is no real disconnect. I am going to install the Marinco switch that I just bought.
