2000 40' Intrigue here. Minor issues from time to time but we love it cause it's simple

1998 CC Allure

Purchased used in 2008. Currently enjoying over 490 days traveling the US in our coach. Met the original owner at our first cc rally in Tucson. We were amazed he could recognized his former coach. Found out the paint job is one of a kind. We are fortunate that as totally ignorant first time buyers, we bought a CC. So reliable and comfortable. We also have all the original manuals, all maintenance records.

older country coach

We have a 1992 CC Affinity that we've had for 14 years. It's a solid coach and we like it !

New to me 1998 CC Intrigue 36' Cummins/Dynomax

Hi All!!
After 6 months of looking, I located a CC Intrigue 36' 1250 mi away. I decided the research I had done was good & jumped on a plane to Austin from Orlando.
Had a local mechanic put in an oil pressure sensor, new belts, & checked all the fluids. Previous owner put new tires on 250 miles ago along with the annual service.
Being this was my first RV I took the LazyDays safety course a week earlier. I was a little apprehensive driving this "big to me" coach back to to FL solo but after a short while I got a little more comfortable with it. I must say it drove like a dream, only 92,000 miles & that Cummins was hummin!! After the second refuel I got the cruise set at 65 & didn't budge over that for 300 miles or more.. I was getting 8.7 mpg! My first stretch I found myself doin 75 keeping with traffic & got 6.5 mpg.. Next trip I have to shoot for 60..
The build quality is great with this coach! I think I made the right choice even with the laundry list of items I'd like to correct/upgrade.
I've been reading this forum trying to learn all I can. It's awesome the members are so helpful here! I'll have to take some low res pics soon to post! The clearcoat has issues from the Texas sun

Congrats on your buy! In addition to poorer gas mileage doing 75, realize that your tires are only rated for 75mph. I tend to drive between 58 and 62 on the interstates. My Cat 525HP (42 foot) seems to get about 5.6 mpg (mountainous travels), but haven't collected enough data yet. My previous coach with a 400 HP Cat (40 foot Inspire) got about 7.8 avg.

Enjoy your coach!

electric

I have an 87 SE with the 3208 with 105k miles. I get 9.5 to 10 MPG and with cruise control your doing 75 like nothing. Would love to look at electric schematic for that year. I some time feel my charging and systems that drain my batteries are not quite right. Love it though, country coach and with gillig chassis seems so much better built then most.

I had the battery draining problem on my 1995 Affinity, turned out to be a bad battery isolater. I found a shop that replaced the battery isolater with a solenoid like on the newer coaches, problems are gone.

I had Chinese tires with bad shocks on a 1996 affinity 48000 miles., lots of steering corrections.
Changed the tires to Michelin and new shocks, adjusted the air ride valves. Now she tracks very well at 65 to 70 miles per hr we now have 65000miles on her. Very satisfied with this old model. Last trip was from Florida to Yellowstone pulling a Ford Flex, no problems

I thought ALL of the CC's out there were "older" since the last ones off the assembly line were the '09's and a few '10's.

Well...a good many of them can't live up to the 10 year rule of some RV parks.
