How to Test Tecma Motor

I asked something like this on iRV2 Class A but got no help. So, I’m going direct to the expert CCers.

My Thetford Silence Plus (2 button) 35400 quit flushing. The water runs in pre- and during the flush; but the pump and macerater don’t operate.

I have 12V to the controller in the toilet housing. I took power from the wall switch for ten minutes to reset it. No help. I removed (and disconnected) the red Tank Full sensor. No help. I checked power to the connector going from the controller to the pump motor and got 13.33V for the few seconds when it should have been flushing. I believe the controller is good, the button panel is good, and the tank sensor is not the cause. Therefore, I believe the pump motor is bad.

Does anyone concur or disagree and does anyone know how I can check the motor?

Jerry

If you are able to put power to the motor and it does not run, sounds like it must be the pump motor.

While I generally don't keep a bunch of spare parts available, I have considered buying a new macerator assembly for the Tecma and keeping it for a spare. Only toilet in the coach and if it stops working, you may find yourself in deep doodoo.

Best price I've found anywhere.

I agree with your findings but I would put 12v directly to the motor. In my set up, the connector to the controller can plug into the motor lead for a quick test. Mine was clogged, took apart, cleaned and good to go.
A spare motor would be a good idea to have.
