HWH not working

Hi Everyone,

I have a an 04 Allure 40' with a tag. Everything's been fine for the first month or so and now after removing if from storage (only in for 2 weeks) I drove it home to work on a few things cosmetically speaking. I got out while it was still running and heard a huge hissing noise coming from the rear end around the rear axles that didn't stop until after I shut it off but still heard the sound for a few more minutes. Went into travel mode fine until I went to move it today and noticed the same hissing noise, tag won't raise now, won't level and won't go into travel mode. Anyone ever ran into anything like this?

Thank you for any answers or suggestions.

Could be:

- A stuck in the open air check valve (may not be the exact name of the gizmo)

- A ruptured air bag

- A ruptured hose

- A loose fitting from hose to airbag

- None of the above!

Have someone do this for you in the cab, as you are positioned next to the tag. After starting the engine and let it run for awhile to build up air pressure. Try using the level reset button, then go into Leveling mode. If the leveling red light is blinking, then turn off the engine but leave the key in the 'on position'.

See if you hear the hissing continue, and if you can identify where. And does the electric compressor still kick on too?

And of course you know the CAUTION to not get under the rig, especially if you are having any sort of air and bag problem...

Those are my thoughts. Wish you well, and will follow as others add suggestions too. (Monday, you might call and see if you can get some help. They're usually pretty good at helping us mere mortals in debugging problems.)

Best,
Smitty

there are 2 valve blocks under the rear that control the tag/ride and leveling they are full of valves and check valves.
I ran mine up on 2x10 blocks 3 high, and got under with a spray bottle with soapy water found a bunch of leaks on the one block, So I tagged everything and removed it and sent it to HWH They rebuilt it like new for around $500.00 (3 weeks)
The one I had trouble with was up above the drive shaft and a real PITA to get at.

Thank you for all the helpful information. The coach lowered quite a bit so was only able to get a flashlight on the bag near the tag and could see something blowing around the air hose. Took it to my local Cummins dealer this morning so will wait till the morning to hear.

Thanks again!
