Cummins bought out the company that made the OEM filters, i have three and purchased from Cummins for about 10 bucks each..do not try Napa.. May be a different filter but really pricey.. Use a coat hanger to pull out filters..no oiley hands..

Yes, I would guess it is 5 gallons or more. It dwarfs the coolant recovery tank next to it. Not sure why they put such a big tank on there but the external spin-on filter sure makes it easy to change.

Mine was a Wix 51849. That number will cross reference to Baldwin, NAPA (NAPA is Wix but more expensive), Hastings.

Gla,

I looked on the invoice for the P/N and this is what it says:

3 Filter, Hydraulic 57317 $35.02

I googled that and it comes back to a WIX brand name filter.

that is about all the info I have...hope it helps
