I did it...now I have questions?

I bought my first CC, an 02' Magna, 40', 2 slides, C-12....(I've had others, but not CC) Now I have questions: (1st) Coolant temp appears to range from 190 to 205 and keeps around 201 (driving 65 mph, flat ground, w/5200 lbs toad). Is that normal, I was concerned that was too hot? (2nd) When turning sharply at low speed (like when backing), steering wheel seems a little tight (& makes a little noise)? Is that normal? (3rd) brake pedal seems positioned a little low - like you almost have to stand on top of it to stop - but seems to stop well enough? and, (4th) I have a rattle over the refer (propane type), any ideas on what this might be? Thanks for any responses - Jody

I have a 2002 Affinity 42' with a C12. 190-205 is about the range mine runs in. Once in a while when going slow my steering makes a small amount of noise. Does not sound ominous. Maybe brakes need adjusting. Mine seem about perfect. My refer sometimes makes a little noise moving on rough roads. I just ignore it. 2002 IMHO was a great year for CC motor homes. We love ours.

Fixed the refer last night. Had to pull it out. There was a thin metal plate/bracket vibrating against cooling fins (?) located at the top rear of refer. I put some spacers in between, taped down w/aluminum foil tape. As far as brakes, what's a good indicator that it needs pads/shoes?

My experience is that wear on brake linings is checked the same way on Motor Homes as on cars. Someone looks at the pads / shoes and determines if they are worn. I had my repair place check them. I can tell you that bus brakes last a VERY long time. My coach has 86000 miles on it and the original brakes are not even close to being ready to replace.
