Inertia Brake Controller

We recently bought a '98 Allure (We love it!) and I'm wanting to tow a small cargo trailer with electric brakes. Can I get an inertia type controller and mount it in the rear of the coach with the batteries? They typically stay on all the time and it appears they have presets for different weight trailers. Will this work okay or is there a reason I need to have it in the cab besides having the ability to use just trailer brakes?

You can get a standard controller such as a Teknosha Prodigy P-3 and mount it where the driver has control, same as you would if towing a 5-er with a pick up.. You just need to run longer, (And I would make 'em one to two guages higher) wire. No problem at all. The controller does not care what kind of vehicle it is mounted to.

But the place for the controller, is where the driver can see and operate it if needed.

You may find that your coach is already pre-wired for a brake controller.
Do you have the wiring schematics? If so look for 12 volt wiring for brake controller around the dash area. If it is on the schematics, it is in the coach. If not you will need to run the wiring as mentioned.
