42 Intrigue Ovation step slide cover
We just went through this exact same problem on our 2003/4 Intrigue 42 Ovation. It took some searching by my local RV repair source, and help from Kevin Waite to get the part needed, but it's now fixed and works like new. The motor was the culprit, and it required removing the wiring and junction box at the top rear of the driver's side front compartment to then remove the access panel to get at the motor. An horrific spot to have to work in, but $954 later we are fixed. The new drive motor was very expensive, and apparently unique to the job, but having the step slide cover blocking access/egress was unacceptable. I hope you are able to get someone qualified and with the patience of Job to do yours. Safe travels.
