Is this oil pressure sensor?

This is on the side of Cummins ISC 350 engine housing below the lift pump at the passenger side. Oil is seeping. Can someone who has changed it confirm if this is the oil pressure sensor/sender?

Although the location ; above the starter , below the electric lift pump ; isn't an exact match for the sensor location diagram below ( item 11 ) , the oil gallery down the side of the block , is on the same plane as the sensor you've shown in the picture .
On a side note some years of the ISC used two oil pressure sensors ; one for the ECM and a second for the dash gauge.

Looks like it. As Skip said, you might have two sender units. I know my motor does and either one will shut the motor down. The replacement is nothing but a switch that will show a constant 55 pounds.


Somewhere a guy posted that he is using a sender from a different motor to read actual value on the ISC

I remember I read that post too that he used a sender from a different motor and worked. Now I am working on items in engine bay - a broken turbo gasket, fatigue CAC sleeves, mushy coolant hoses, aging serpentine belt/tensioner... Thinking to change the sender as well for my oil pressure gauge has been dancing...

I had one replaced and they replaced with the on/off switch so all I get is 55 on the dash gauge. Might be nice to find the post that had the replacement sender listed. All I remember is the picture was from Amazon.


From what I was told, a failure of either one will shut the motor down due to low oil pressure
