Lake Havusa AZ

Haven't been there yet but going to the Balloon Festival in January, so is
there a best route preference to get there from Socal? Have not heard if
our local club is doing a caravan.

You can take the northern route I15 to I40 or the southern route I10 to Desert Center or I95 at Blythe and go north. either way there are some areas where you cross over onto on coming traffic to go around bridge construction. And of course, the Cajon Pass is a mess.

We took I-40 in July. Nice route. I-10 may be a problem with the washed out bridge near Desert Center.

But the I40 has two areas where the bridges are out. I think traffic moves faster on I40 through the construction than it does on the I10 though.

OP - if you are not staying on the island, I suggest bringing bikes to ride back and forth to the staging area...traffic is horrible (at times) getting on and off the island.

Hadn't heard about those on the I-40. Whereabouts?

Using Google Maps to check the trip it looks like 15 to 40 to 95 would
be best for first time there. Thanks for the tips.

We are booked for dry camping with our local club at the Marina. So it's
suppose to be walking distance to the event.

My vote would be for the 40 as well.

At Essex road. The off ramp eastbound is closed. I go thru there a few times a month and the slowdown isn't bad.
