We have a 2000 Country Coach Intrigue with a large horizontal mounted propane tank. We would like to run our gas BBQ off the main tank instead of buying the little green bottles.
I found on the big tank a fitting that is the exact same as that on the little bottles but need to put a shut off valve between the fitting and the 20' gas line I had the local propane dealer make for me.
I would like to use a minimum of fittings to reduce the potential for leaks.
Does anyone have any ideas where to find the proper valve?

Marshall Brass make the Extend-a-Flow tee and hose kit for this purpose. Check out theie website and look for Extend-A-Flow.

I found ACE Hardware has a large parts selection for propane uses.

Camping World carries all of the parts you need. My 07 Diplomat has the cross tank with the valve on the street side. I put on an Extend-a-Flow kit and had a 25' hose made at a propane store in Quartzsite, with the end fittings I needed to connect with my Weber Baby-Q.

Hi All,

Hey JOC1212,

I agree wityh Mike about Marshall Brass, however if you think you might be doing any extended stays! Get the Extend-a-Stay Delux kit! It will allow you to hook up to your grill like the Extend-a-Flow, as well as hook up a bulk tank so you do not have to move Motorhome to get LP when needed! Just my 2 cents worth, best of luck with what ever you end up with !!

Is it possible you already have a extend-a-flow or extend-a-stay installed? Does propane vapor flow unchecked from that fitting or does the 20ft pigtail you had made have a projection on it that opens a ball valve inside?
Marshall Brasshas great products and a very responsive customer service department.
Good Luck.

Go here to see the extend-a-stay installed on a coach propane tank. With this device one can have:

an external propane tank supplying propane to the coach appliances.

external propane appliances drawing their propane from the coach's main tank.[/list]
Under the grey plastic cover is the coach's regulator.

I've e-mailed Marshall Brass 4 times and they have not replied. Not sure they are still in business (and if they are I question their customer service!)
