Locked in

My inside door latch broke last night while trying to exit the coach . I had to climb out a window hoping the outside latch still worked . Thankfully it did as was able to open the door . Looking through the latch opening on the doors edge I see that a plastic clip has broke on the end of the rod . I will need to take the interior door panel off to get at the problem .

Does anyone know how these buttons come off ? Are they a push lick type thing that just needs to be popped back out ? I'm afraid to put to much presure on them and break something . I know I will have to remove the pull handle and the dead bolt also . I've included a picture of the buttons on the panel .

Use the back side of your pocket knife or a dull table knife to pop them off. They just snap on and off.

I got the door fixed up while camping After figuring out how those buttons come off . You have to pop the button cover off exposing a screw . Once taking those all off the panel will be free from the door . The small clip that holds the rod to the latch was broke . I slid the rod back in the hole then used some liquid steel to hold it in place . Seems to be working and may hold for sometime .
